Description
RWBY X Star Wars the Old Republic: The Dark Side of a Rose.
Took me a while to work up the creativity in my brain for this set of two saber. Aurumlamina is a convertible guard shoto retrosaber with a guard, used by Pyrrha Nikos. I originally was going to giver her a light pike, but she also has a shield along with her sword. Going with this I though with her origins and training among the ancient Sith on Korriban she would use a saber with an external power pack and her original saber wasn't any were as refined as this design. This design also used the legends cross guard design for catching blades, along with that she can increase cutting potential by using the external battery pack (the wire connection is show by the break at the base of the hilt, battery pack not depicted) also its blade is very very hot, unstable lava crystal!
this design I think Pyrrha would use, though she would use it as more of a defensive weapon as she is sort of the ranger of the group with the scepter of Ragnos as her primary weapon for range and this saber is her shield. though if she needs to use the saber as a primary means of attack, she would use Niman, Shii Cho, and Makashi.

While the design of the hilt is... of questionable aesthetic, I do commend you for using obscure lightsaber variants for the design. However, mechanically, I do not believe a guard shoto meshes well with a forked lightsaber. Both are, admittedly, defensive designs, but acieve them in different ways. Guard shotos are basically tonfa, and are therefore used for blocking blows more than actually striking. Forked lightsabers, and especially if it were a hypothetical shoto variant, are used for trapping other lightsaber blades with the second emitter, much like a parrying dagger.
I have no issue with the concept of a retrosaber, although I do believe it would present an issue with effective use of this saber. But, that's just my opinion.
